It's all my wife's fault...In the summer of 1994 Jennie brought me to an Arts, Crafts & Beer festival in downtown Denver, CO. I still remember my first taste of craft beer. It was JuJu Ginger (now Good JuJu) from a little outfit in Longmont, CO called Left Hand Brewing Company.

I was blown away. I couldn't believe beer could have that much flavor and complexity.

For Christmas that year Jennie got me a home brewer's starter setup which included a Munton's Dockside Porter kit. Even though it took 7 hours and I ruined our stove top, the beer was drinkable and I was hooked!!

The rest, as they say is history...my history anyway. We opened our doors in June of 2013 with 3 beers on tap eager to expand the taste buds of our soon to be local customers.

How it all began

Movin' on up

We've grown a lot since then, but continue to be the small-batch, friendly neighborhood brewery that Crafty fans from near and far have come to love.

In 2015, we brought on a new head brewer and jack-of-all-trades, Tim Bower. With his creativity and hard work, we renovated the tasting room and our outdoor beer garden, and have grown our beer line-up to offer more variety than anywhere in the Finger Lakes!

Later that year, at the National Brewer's Association annual conference, we got a "little help" expanding our brewhouse. We tested our luck in a drawing held by Kinnek Brewing Equipment & Supplies for a new brewing system manufactured by Bridgetown Brew Systems, and won the grand prize! What started as a 13 gallon system grew to 155 gallons in just two years!

2019 was another big year for us. Our Belgian Quadruple the Elixir earned a Gold Medal at the New York State Craft Beer Competition. That same year, Heather Olander joined us as a server in the tasting room and beer garden. Fun-loving, energetic, and knowledgeable, Heather is a welcome addition to the Crafty family!  It didn't take long for us to recognize Heather's other talents; her artwork was featured in our spring 2020 Jam Session beer release and fundraising event!
